    Water & energy autonomy

The sun for energy, the air for water

No borehole, no water truck, no mandatory grid connection: the villa makes its own electricity on its roof and its own drinking water from the humidity of the Atlantic air.

    Energy · 100% solar

A solar power plant on the roof

The flat roofs and pergolas carry 250 m² of photovoltaic panels (50 kWp, 85% performance ratio). On average they produce 276 kWh a day: air conditioning, kitchen, pool, pumps and water production. Inverters and lithium batteries sit in the ventilated technical room.

    • An average 25 kWh/day surplus stored in batteries covers nights and cloudy days
    • No electricity bought from outside
    • The resort’s surplus supports the clinic and shared networks
Water · made from the air

    Two AirDrink C60 generators

With 73% average humidity, Sal’s air is a resource. Each atmospheric generator condenses the moisture, filters and mineralises it: 270 L/day rated, 230 L/day assumed in real conditions. The two units run in alternation, so one can be serviced without stopping production.

    • Requirement: 399 L/day (4 occupants, 130 L/person/day + 10% margin)
    • 80% of greywater recycled to water the garden
    • Thermal pool cover: −80% evaporation
    • 2,098 L reserve: 5 days of full autonomy

    The heart of autonomy

Reached from outside only, so that maintenance never disturbs the occupants: inverters, lithium batteries, water treatment and UV sterilisation, booster pump and an energy / water monitoring screen.
